Temple Hills, Maryland, is a densely populated, culturally diverse community just outside of the Washington Beltway within Prince George's County. It is home to nearly 8,000 residents, who enjoy life in a neighborhood of relatively good schools, and a very high home value appreciation rate.

Located about 10 miles outside of the nation's capital, Temple Hills is home to many government employees who commute into downtown Washington each day.
This working class community is predominantly made up of home-owners, although there are some renters. Many families with children live here, as do young professionals. The median age for a resident is 36, and the median household income is about $56,000, or 20 percent higher than the national average.

Real estate in Temple Hills is mostly established, with most homes built since the 1950s. The average home sells for about $257,000, which buys a single-family home of three or four bedrooms, built since the 1960s. Older and larger properties are also available, but Temple Hills is fairly densely populated and has not seen much new construction in recent years. Most homes range in price between $170,000 and $330,000. Some properties also sell in the range of $330,000 and $490,000, while a small handful available for under $170,000.

High school graduates from Temple Hills can access higher education at one of numerous topnotch universities in the Washington area, including Georgetown, George Mason, and George Washington universities. The community is also in close distance to Gallaudet University, the nation's private college with undergraduate and graduate programs for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Unemployment among Temple Hills residents is lower than nationwide. The area is thriving economically, as job growth exceeds by nearby twice the rate of job creation in the average American community.

The quiet, relatively low crime community is within a few minutes drive of historic sites like the National Capitol, the Library of Congress, the U.S. Supreme Court, and Union Station.
