Find out how much Myersville Real Estate is worth

Myersville is a community of about 1,500 residents located in Frederick County, Maryland, about 60 miles away from the nation's capitol. Myersville offers country living in new home developments and older established homes. It is a suburban neighborhood with aspiration to mimic a farming community. Myersville is a low density, virtually no crime region where the average house sold in January 2006, for $488,225.

Most residents are urban escapees who are well educated and commute to and from work to area federal and private employers. Myersville has an unemployment rate that is much lower than the national average. Future job growth in the town, because of its proximity to the nation's capital, is projected to be nearly three times as high as nationwide.

The real estate market here is made up mostly of single-family homes built since the 1960s. There are some newer homes, too, and some well established older properties. Most homes have at least three bedrooms. Real estate is widely ranging in style, from brick ranchers to rustic country cabins. All properties have gardens or yards, and many have barns or sheds, feature wrap around porches, or attached vineyards. Myersville has a vigorous public park policy to complement the high environmental standards required of the private sector. There are five park areas.

Nearly half of Myersville residents age 25 and older have a bachelor's or advanced college degree. This translates into a community that cares about educating its off spring, and explains why the area has pretty good schools, with small class sizes and where teachers are encouraged to provide personal attention to their pupils as often as possible. Graduation rates are high, and many local high schoolers go on to pursue a college degree.

Myersville derived its name from the man who settled the area hundreds of years ago, the migrant James Stottlemyer. Today, nearly 30% percent of Myersville residents report German ancestry.
