Find out how much Montgomery Village Real Estate is worth

Montgomery Village, Maryland, is home to more than 38,000 residents, located about 15 miles northwest of Washington DC, in the heart of Montgomery County.
It was one of the first planned communities in the United States, established in 1966. Today it includes new and older homes surrounded by rolling green hills, lush parks, and lakes.

The Village is known as “The Best Hometown” in the state. The real estate market is made up predominantly of row homes and other attached units, of three or four bedrooms. There are some newer, larger properties, too. Most properties sell in the range of $170,000 and $330,000, although some homes sell for less, and a small handful sell for closer to $1 million. In January 2006, the average condo unit sold for $317,951 and the average single family home sold for $492,633. All town homes are surrounded by woods, and some of the properties have great hillside or garden views. A few walking trails are available in this area, as well.

Montgomery Village offers residents outdoor weekend fun at the Apple Ridge Ball Field and Recreation Area, and parks such as the Clubside, William Hurley, and South Valley. All of these parks host annual festivals and fairs. South Valley Park boasts a musical tradition of free summer concerts every Sunday evening.

The Village is on the border with northwest Washington, which makes it a good commute for workers spending 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. in the nation's capital. The community is also just across the Potomac River from Virginia, and along the I-270 high technology corridor, which makes it accessible to those commuting closer to home, as well.

The town offers excellent public schools for residents to enroll their children. As part of the outstanding Montgomery County Public Schools district, more than 90 percent of local students graduate, and many of them go on to pursue a college degree. Higher education is easily accessible at nearby topnotch universities including George Washington and Georgetown universities.
