Frederick, Maryland is city with adjacent communities nestled among the rolling hills and home to 56,000 residents. The area houses the gentle waters of the Carroll Creek, the beautiful Baker Park, and vast, rural farmlands. Located mid-way between the Washington and Baltimore, Frederick encompasses the city of Frederick, communities like Libertytown, and historic Civil War battlegrounds. For commuters, the area is at the crossroads of I-270 and I-70, allowing easy access to the Montgomery and Howard County suburbs, along with Baltimore and the nation's capital.

Downtown Frederick is an officially designated All-American City featuring 33 blocks of historic charm, a vibrant business district, and two parks. There are plenty of antique shops and modern mall facilities for residents to enjoy. Cultural opportunities abound as residents can enjoy live theatrical performances, classical and popular music, family and vintage movies at the Weinberg Center for the Arts.

The community is home to more than forty restaurants, catering to all taste palates. Country festivals are often held in nearby rural communities, and there are seven golf courses where residents can tee off in their free time.

Frederick is tranquil with virtually no crime. The city offers residents excellent public schools in which to enroll their children. There are quality private schools in the area, but public schools are served by Frederick County's public school district, which boasts good performance on national standardized tests and high graduation rates. Most students go on to pursue a college degree.

Real estate here ranges from $75,000 for a small single-family home or mid-sized townhouse, to more than $1 million for expansive historic homes or farms. The average home sells for roughly $267,000 and is a single-family home of three or four bedrooms, built since the 1960s in a rambler or colonial style. Residents are a mixture of home owners and renters, and young single professionals and families with children. The average household income is about $50,000.

The Frederick region has a thriving economy. While unemployment nationwide is 5 percent, here it is only 3.4 percent. Job growth in the region is outpacing that in the average American community by more than 100 percent.
